Sara’s leadership style is deeply informed by her comprehensive collegiate education, having earned academic degrees from two prestigious West Coast institutions: California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California, and California State University Stanislaus in Turlock, California. Her higher education provided her with foundational insights into sports psychology, movement mechanics, and organizational leadership.

Motivated by a lifelong love for the art of dance and competitive youth sports, Sara applied her university training far beyond the traditional studio walls. In addition to her extensive history in dance, she has personal experience training for competitive figure skating and spent years coaching high school sports. This multi-disciplinary athletic background gives her a unique advantage as a Studio Director, allowing her to seamlessly blend the grace and storytelling of artistic dance with the strength, endurance, and strategic mindset of high-level high school and club sports.

Sara brings over 32 years of continuous, hands-on experience to her leadership role at ED&T. For the past 27 years, she has served as the full-time Director and Owner of the flagship ExtravaDance & Tumble studio in Kernersville, North Carolina. Her exceptional business acumen and popular instructional programs also led her to successfully expand the brand, managing several years of ownership at a second thriving studio location in Eden, North Carolina.

Nearly three decades of studio ownership provides Sara with an unmatched, intuitive understanding of youth arts management. She has successfully navigated shifting industry trends, evolving safety standards in tumbling, and new choreography styles, all while preserving the core values of classical technique and positive reinforcement. Life Beyond the Stage: Personal Passions and Historic Restoration

After being a beloved, long-term resident of Kernersville for many years, Sara has recently embraced a new chapter in her personal life. She currently resides in beautiful Mount Airy, North Carolina, with her husband, Jim. Her move to this scenic region has allowed her to connect with new communities while maintaining her daily hands-on executive leadership at the dance studios.

When she is not directing instructors, organizing recital showcases, or collaborating with studio parents, Sara channels her creative energy into historic architectural preservation. She and Jim spend much of their free time carefully restoring their 100-year-old historical home. Much like her professional work with young dancers, restoring a historic estate requires patience, deep respect for structural foundations, and a sharp eye for turning legacy beauty into something that will endure and inspire for generations to come.
